UDAAN BRIDGE

The bridge is a viaduct bridge located in Thane, Mumbai. The city’s myriad business opportunities and its potential to offer a higher standard of living attract migrants from all over India, making the city a potpourri of diverse cultures and communities. Mumbai is known as the city of dreams. Dedicated to the countless aspirations and dreams that this city nurtures, this bridge incorporates the idea of ‘Udaan’, which means ‘flight’. The form seeks inspiration from the wings of a bird. Mumbai is synonymous with development; and through this structure, we take a step towards acknowledging the contribution of women, in particular, in the development of the country. Udaan bridge stands for women empowerment and encouragement of women leadership in all fields.

For the welcoming Viaduct Bridge on Samruddhi Corridor entering Aurangabad, design is inspired by Wings of the Bird.Tigers hunt mainly during the evening and night times, when the vision of their prey is compromised. For this reason, their night time vision is excellent; about six times better than that of humans. There is a wide line of nerves running horizontally across the centre of the eye. This makes a huge difference to the peripheral vision capabilities of the tiger and allows them to be aware of approaching dangers as well as of prey that may be slightly out of their immediate field of sight. In a life dominated by necessity, the tigers sense of sight is an essential part of its very survival.
