Ratnagiri is a port city on the Arabian Sea coast in the south-western part of Maharashtra, India. The Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) has proposed to develop a cruise terminal at Bhagwati Bunder, an old harbour in Ratnagiri. This port is meant to cater to two of India’s major cruises namely Angriya and Jalesh, as well as other local ferries. Angriya is India’s first domestic cruise liner and Jalesh is the first premium luxury cruise ship sailing on national and international waters. The proposed ferry terminal building shall provide the cruise passengers arriving at the terminal an opportunity for a day tour of the nearby tourist points before resuming their journey ahead. The terminal would have all the necessary facilities such as waiting areas, ticketing desks, luggage deposit, and retrieval areas, food and beverage shops, retail outlets, etc. Additionally, it would offer recreational areas along with viewing decks to watch the golden sunrise and sunsets from the sea.
