Ambazari Bridge
The Ambazari Bridge crosses Nagpur's Ambazari Lake — one of the city's most beloved urban water bodies and a heritage landscape that has defined the city's western edge since the Bhonsle era. DesignFakt's design creates a minimal structure that does not compete with the landscape, a thin concrete deck supported on slender piers designed to disappear into the lake's reflective surface when viewed from a distance.
The bridge's pedestrian edge is treated with precision: a continuous handrail of weathering steel that frames views of the lake while providing a firm datum at the edge of the deck. The deck surface is of exposed aggregate concrete, the texture calibrated to reduce noise from vehicle tyres. DesignFakt delivered complete structural and architectural design for NMC.
