Seafront Development

The Seafront Development at Visakhapatnam is an urban design proposal for the city's Beach Road corridor — one of India's finest coastal public spaces. DesignFakt's masterplan introduces a layered programme of coastal promenade, event lawns, food courts, and cultural pavilions, unified by a continuous landscaped edge that mediates between the city and the Bay of Bengal.

The design strategy is one of restraint: the existing topography of the beach is preserved and enhanced rather than reworked. Pavilions are placed as isolated objects in the landscape — lightweight canopy structures of steel and polycarbonate that can be removed or relocated as the programme evolves.
