Ratnagiri Cruise Terminal

The Ratnagiri Cruise Terminal at Ratnagiri is a passenger terminal building for Maharashtra's Konkan coast cruise circuit — a waterfront typology that required DesignFakt to design at a civic scale, creating a formal gateway to the region. The terminal building's elevation is composed of layered concrete brise-soleil that reference the geometric patterning of Konkan vernacular architecture while performing a contemporary solar shading function.

The building's programme includes passenger arrival and departure halls, customs and immigration facilities, retail concessions, and a rooftop terrace with views across Ratnagiri Harbour. The terminal creates a sequence of arrival — from vessel to berth to building to city — that gives the act of landing by sea the ceremony it deserves. DesignFakt delivered complete architectural design for the Maharashtra Maritime Board.
