Sadah Harbour

Sadah Harbour in Musandam Governorate serves the southernmost communities of the Musandam peninsula — a landscape of extraordinary dramatic beauty, where the Hajar Mountains plunge directly into the Strait of Hormuz. DesignFakt's design for the new harbour facility creates a complete maritime settlement: protected basin, fishing jetties, landing centre, service buildings, and a public waterfront square.

The design responds to the scale of the landscape by keeping buildings low and horizontal — a series of whitewashed volumes that read as extensions of the rocky coastal terrace rather than impositions upon it. The public waterfront square is oriented to capture the prevailing sea breeze and frame views of the open water. Complete design and documentation delivered for the Government of Oman.
