BKC Suspension Bridge

The BKC Suspension Bridge in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex is a pedestrian connector that transforms functional transit into spatial experience. The bridge's single-pylon suspension system creates a dramatic clear span over an active road corridor, its cables fanning from the pylon in a geometry that references the structural logic of the Gothic arch rendered in steel.

The bridge deck is designed as a public space in its own right — wide enough for informal gathering, with integrated seating and landscape planting in the central reservation. The pylon is illuminated at night, establishing the bridge as a landmark in BKC's rapidly developing skyline. DesignFakt delivered complete architectural and structural engineering design in association with MMRDA.
