Eco Resort at Pench

The Eco Resort at Pench, Madhya Pradesh is a luxury eco-tourism facility at the edge of Pench Tiger Reserve — one of India's finest wildlife sanctuaries and the inspiration for Kipling's The Jungle Book. DesignFakt's design works with the forest landscape rather than against it, placing guest units as a series of low-impact pavilions that minimise ground disturbance while maximising the experience of living at the forest edge.

Each guest pavilion is raised on a lightweight steel platform, avoiding excavation and preserving the root systems of the existing trees. The pavilion walls are of natural stone and timber, the roof of traditional clay tile — materials selected for their thermal performance, their visual integration with the forest, and their low embodied energy. The resort is entirely solar-powered, with rainwater harvesting and zero-discharge waste treatment. DesignFakt delivered complete architectural and environmental design for the private client.
