Roundabout Design

The Roundabout Design project is a series of urban design interventions at key junctions in Nagpur's arterial road network. DesignFakt's designs treat each roundabout as a moment of civic identity — not merely a traffic management device, but a landmark that gives structure to the city's rapidly expanding periphery. Each design incorporates sculpture, water feature, landscape, and night-time lighting to create a place that reads as a destination as well as a junction.

The design of each roundabout responds to its specific location and the communities it serves. The central island is large enough to be experienced as a landscape — planted with specimen trees and ground-cover planting that changes with the seasons. The sculptural element at the centre of each roundabout is designed in consultation with the local community, reflecting the cultural identity of the neighbourhood.
